Ethos

Describing the ethos of a Church of England parish is a challenge. But we are an open community. We are traditional in our background in that we enjoy traditional church music and a relatively formal liturgy. But we are aware that we need to know some modern music!
We are also liberal in our outlook, affirmative of the ordination of women to the priesthood, sympathetic to the remarriage of divorcees. Not all of us agree with this liberal orientation, and we differ in our interpretation of the Bible, but we accept that the world is made up of different view points and that the challenge is how to live together with our differing perspectives.
If you have a particular view about the world you will be encouraged to understand and develop your own perspective, and understand that view in the context of others. If you simply are unsure about what you think then that in itself is a perspective and where else better than to begin your exploration than with us?

Membership

There are presently 120 members of Holy Trinity Church. Not all come to Church every week but each makes a commitment to come as and when they are able. Members offer their time and talents in the activities listed overleaf. There may be something there that you would be interested in are something new that you would like to offer. Most also contribute to our stewardship scheme which helps pay for the witness, service and outreach of our church community.
We have been at the heart of Dartford's community for over 1000 years, establishing schools, hospitals, and other enterprising initiatives such as the creation of the first power station in Dartford. Today we work in partnership with others, including the YMCA, The Borough Council, the NHS, and the Council for Voluntary Services. We are open and active every day of the week. We are going to be here for a long time to come and look forward to be a continuing part of the Christian story. So do join us.
